Congratulations to Wes Kaye who passed his CCPR or Certified Construction Product Representative test.
In the competitive world of construction, you have to prove yourself again and again.
One way to do this is to take advantage of CSI’s professional certifications. For product manufacturers,
CSI offers the CCPR program certification. This certification is earned through a pass or fail exam and only
people who are certified CDT (Certified Document Technician) are eligible. Generally half who take the CCPR exam
fail so earning the certification is an accomplishment. CCPR along with CDT are credentials that tell an architect
you speak the same language and helps open doors. For more information on CDT, CCPR visit CSI’s website.

"...the
integration of computers with equipment has improved production speed and
capability, simplified setup and maintenance requirements, and increased the
demand for workers with computer skills...
...this is certainly the case with Rulon Company, a custom woodworking firm that
moved to St. Johns County in 2006 from former locations in Pennsylvania and
Georgia. The firm employs about 70 woodworking professionals in the World
Commerce Center at Interstate 95 and International Golf Parkway, and is planning
to hire 15-20 more by December 2007. The company manufactures customized wood
ceiling and acoustical wood wall systems for high-end projects.
...Rulon employs graduates from schools that offer programs in wood science who
have the computer and design skills needed for success...
...Rulon Company is experiencing rapid growth because the work they do is
custom, complex, and unique to each job...

On August 13, 2004, Hurricane Charley slammed into DeSoto Automall in
Arcadia, Florida. With winds as high as 145 miles per hour, damage to the
dealership facility was expected. There was plenty of damage to the linear metal
ceilings which never had a chance but there was no damage to the Plasline linear
uPVC ceiling canopy which withstood a category 4 hurricane...and it had been
installed over 5 years ago! After this devastating event the State of Florida
immediately changed the building codes and required all new buildings in high
risk coastal areas to comply with the Miami Dade County building codes which
required all products to pass a much higher wind load test. The new requirements
for many areas increased from a wind load resistance of
120mph to 150mph, Rulon immediately sent our PVC product for testing and passed the very stringent wind
load test. The bottom line is that with Plasline you not only get a maintenance
free uPVC ceiling, but you also get tough, lasting beauty. Check out our
Plasline link or call your regional Rulon representative for more information!
